Key areas that the EETAC is committed to are relations with
companies, in the ICT and aerospace fields, and internationalisation of studies through student exchange programmes, at another university or  a company abroad. The EETAC External Relations Area works to support and manage these topics, so as to maintain the position of the EETAC as a leading school in the Baix Llobregat area in the AeroTelecom field.

Companies are a key player in society and contribute to creating innovation, well-being and wealth. The EETAC recognises the value and importance of collaborating to train professionals who can successfully join the business and production sectors, transforming these sectors with the values of the UPC.

The following sections explain how companies or research centres can
collaborate with the EETAC.

Talent recruitment:

If you are interested in talent recruitment, the easiest way is to offer placements in your company to our final year students. If your company can offer tasks related with telecommunications and/or aerospace, you can publish an offer for our students. Enrolling in a placement is a good way for our students to complement their academic knowledge in a more practical way, while they acquire professional skills in the company. This promotes and consolidates the collaboration between university and company and strengthens the links among students, companies and the University.

A placement offers our students training to complement their degree that will help them enter the business and professional world.

Who can offer a placement

  • Companies and private institutions
  • Companies and public institutions
  • Professional offices and professional associations
  • Research centres and research groups within the University
  • Companies and foreign universities (international placements)

Advantages for the company

  • Recruit students in advanced training in the various technological areas of the School's degrees (AeroTelecom).
  • Get to know candidates in depth and in real working conditions to potentially hire them in the future.
  • Talent recruitment: selects students before hiring them.
  • It counts as a staff expense.
  • No contractual relationship is established between the company and the student, as the placement is an academic not an employment agreement, in accordance with Article 2.3 of Royal Decree 592/2014.

What we ask the company to do

  • Define one of its employees as the student's company supervisor.
  • Offer tasks related to our engineering degrees (telecommunications or aerospace, depending on the student's degree).
  • Pay the student for the placement period.
  • Sign a placement agreement with the University and the student.
  • Assess the student during the placement period.

How can I publish a placement offer for EETAC students?

Another way to recruit talent, to get to know students directly and to talk to them is by joining our business fair.

Aerotelecom Forum is a business fair organised entirely by our students. It is held every year on the last Wednesday in April or the first Wednesday in May at the UPC Baix Llobregat Campus (Castelldefels). This event was designed to build bridges between our talent and companies in the telecommunications and aerospace sectors.

If you have a job offer and would like to share it with EETAC graduates or final year students, please contact us by sending an email to

Make yourself visible:

If you want our students to find out first-hand the topics on which your organisation is working, you can offer:

  • Talks for final-year bachelor's degree students, typically on Wednesdays during Cultural Hour (11 a.m. to 12 p.m.). Talks should have technical content, for example to explain the engineering projects on which the company works.
  • Highly technical talks, given in English to our master's degree students, typically during the master talk sessions of each master's degree.
  • Guided visits to your facilities.

If you are interested in one of these formats, contact us (

Often, students organise talks and/or round tables during their Business Forum. If you are interested, see the information from this year's Aerotelecom Forum (information in Catalan) and ask for more information.

You can also participate in professional round tables. These sessions are usually organised by UPC Alumni (information in Spanish) and you can contact them directly.

Creating synergies with the School:

The EETAC is committed to promoting projects in which students can collaborate with the company to expand and complement the knowledge acquired during their degree. Interested companies can present business projects within academic courses or collaborate with specific seminars in our master's degrees. If you are interested, contact us

In addition, companies can offer to help students work on technical projects such as a final thesis (bachelor's thesis, or master's thesis). You only have to identify your placement offer in our platform as a project and with a number of hours equivalent to the weight of the corresponding final thesis (see the Summary table; more info here).

In the research field, the company can collaborate with the school’s teaching staff on research projects or through research projects or industrial doctorates.

You may be interested in collaborating with the EETAC as a sponsor for our students. There are many options that the company can propose. Here are just some examples:

  • Best thesis award (bachelor's thesis or master thesis)

  • Assignment of laboratory equipment

  • Student sponsorship (scholarship)

  • Premium Company Chairs (more info on the UPC website)
