Primera charla:
Hora: de 11:00 a 12:00
Título: "Nanosatellite technologies and educational programs at Space Research Department of Samara University"
Ponente: Denis Avariaskin
Abstract: Space Research Department was established in Samara National Research University in 2010. The Department has two educational programs: Small spacecraft and nanosatellites (4 years Bachelor degree) and Advanced space technologies and experiments in space (2 years Master degree). The main idea of the Department is “Studying by scientific research”. Most students of the Department are involved in real projects of nanosatellites. Space Research Department has designed two nanosatellites: SamSat-218D (mission: technology demonstration, launched in 2016), SamSat-QB50 (mission: atmospheric research, waiting for launch), SamSat-M (mission: testing of a new propulsion system, designed). Every year Space Research Department invites students and young researchers from all over the world to participate in the International Summer Space School. During two weeks of the School students study nanosatellite technologies and design a project of a nanosatellite.
Bio: Education: Samara National Research University (former Samara State Aerospace University), Inter-University Department of Space Research, Master degree in Space Engineering (2010 – 2012). Samara National Research University. Candidate degree (Ph.D.) in space engineering (2016). Occupation: Associate professor in the Space Research Department of Samara National Research University. Lecturer of courses: orbital mechanics; basics of nanosatellite design; technologies of the nanosatellite constellations control. Area of scientific research is related to the orbital dynamics of small satellites and formation flight (28 published papers). Experience in engineering: project manager and designer of scientific equipment for testing advanced communications technologies for a small spacecraft "Aist-2" (the spacecraft was launched on April 28, 2016); participation in designing of nanosatellite SamSat-218D (the spacecraft was launched on April 28, 2016).
Segunda charla:
Hora: de 12:00 a 13:00
Título: Nanosatellite electronic subsystems
Ponente: Dmitry Kornilin
Abstract: The lecture gives an overview of the following topics: onboard computers for nanosatellites (Basics, requirements, software) and Nanosatellite electronic subsystems (Basics, requirements, examples). It contains an introduction to the hardware and software development for onboard computer, existing onboard computers, user’s specific solution (handmade onboard computers), ARM microcontrollers, an overview of using C/C++ languages for embedded applications and use of real-time operating systems
Bio: Dmitriy V. Kornilin works for Samara University as an associate professor at the Laser and biomedical systems department. He also has a position of the Senior Scientist in the lab called ‘Photonics’. His first degree was in Radio engineering (2005). Kornilin received his Candidate of Science degree in the area of Computer and control systems from Samara State Aerospace University in 2011. He has completed his Ph.D. in Applied Science, Computing and Engineering from the University of Chester, the UK in 2018. His job duties involve giving lectures and guiding lab works on the courses ‘Architecture of microcontrollers’ and ‘Software development for embedded systems’. Kornilin’s research area relates to the optical and radioelectronic-diagnostic techniques, monitoring parameters of disperse systems. He is also interested in Optical Coherence tomography and Raman-systems, information-measuring systems for embedded applications.
