The Master's degree in Applied Telecommunications and Engineering Management (MASTEAM) organizes a weekly series of activities (talks, technical visits, discussion pannels) that complement the academic activities with real-world experiences from companies, research centres and institutions in the main topics of the master: Internet of Things and Smart Cities.

This week's activity will be a talk.

Title: "Breaking myths about entrepreneurship"

BIO: Vicent Ferrandiz, entrepreneur, MBA, MPM and electronic engineer from La Salle University. He has experience in startup consulting and new companies creation, with many mistakes in his back to learn from. Currently working as Project manager at Idneo developing new IoT technologies and products.

Abstract: 80% of new startups fail during his first 5 years. We will discuss the reasons why most of the startups fail , and more important why a few succeed. We will go though different management methodologies for startups (Lean Startup, Customer development, blue oceans) and break some of myths about entrepreneurship and innovation.
