EUROAVIA Mission: The European Students Space Hackathon

It will be an online 24-hour-hackathon during the weekend of the World Space Week (8th and 9th October). The teams (from 2 to 5 members) will have to solve a space related challenge with support from professional mentors.


The Escola d'Enginyeria de Telecomunicació i Aeroespacial de Castelldefels (EETAC) is part of the sponsorship of this Hackathon.

KIMbcn Foundation is a semi-public entity which aims to stimulate the knowledge and innovation in Spain, improving the return of R+D investments. It has its headquarters in Barcelona, Madrid, Vigo and Santiago de Chile.

 

EUROAVIA is The European Association of Aerospace Engineering Students and it aims to strengthen the current networking between students, reinforce the entrepeneurship and improve the formation of its members through the organization of workshops, competitions, symposia, etc. Nowadays, the association has more than 2200 members and 37 local groups in Europe, Turkey, Egypt and India.Both entities convene with these regulations its first hackathon that will take place during the 8th and 9th October inside the World Space Week. The calendar and timetable are published in the website: http://hackathon.euroavia.eu. This calendar can be modified and all the participants will be informed about it.

 

What is the EUROAVIA Mission?

It will be an online 24-hour-hackathon during the weekend of the World Space Week (8th and 9th October). The teams (from 2 to 5 members) will have to solve a space related challenge with support from professional mentors. Afterwards, all the solutions will be evaluated by a professional jury panel.

The week prior to the event you will have the chance to attend webinars about the topics treated in the hackathon as well as cultural activities in order to get to know more about the other participants and its origins.

 

Who can participate?

Everybody who has interest in the space sector technologies and its business strategies can participate in the hackathon, however it is fully oriented to students who are enrolled on a space related degree in Europe.

 

The Mentors

During the whole competition the teams will be guided by professional mentors in both the technical and business site. The EETAC professor, Jordi Gutiérrez, is one of the technical mentors.
