Thursday 28th April – Get ready for the competition: The University Challenge and the Regional Prize

Next Thursday, Apr 28th at 15:00h, in the Auditorium, a Workshop will take place, organized by Silvia Ruiz and Jaume Sanz (UPC) and Armengol Torres (NewSpace Community).

They will introduce The University Challenge and the Regional Prize as part of the European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC 2016)

ESNC is an international innovation competition, which takes place each year to recognizethe best ideas in the satellite navigation field. Anybody is free to participate; enterprises, research institutes, students and independent people. The only important thing here is Your IdeaClick here to know more information about prizes.

This competition provides the opportunity to both students and researchers from any field to demonstrate creativity and entrepreneurship, and at the same time to make some valuable professional contacts. The aim of the competition is to propose new potential uses for satellite navigation, in any field, from logistics to Health care, to mobile applications (apps). You can start to work on your ideas in advance, and take advantage of the workshop to comment on and improve your proposal with the experts who will be attending.

Your ideas can be come out in ESNC 2016 until June 30th.

In the workshop Jorge Fuentes will introduce the ESA Business Incubation Centre Barcelona (ESA BIC Barcelona), that offers start up support and technical expertise for the creation of innovative companies.

·       16:05 Coffee break (offered by UPC - Room 028a)

·       16:20 Breakout groups to create new ideas – or work on existing ideas

·       18:00 Presentation of draft thoughts from participants and discussion
