El pròxim dimecres 17 de febrer tindrà lloc la sisena xerrada de totes les que el MASTEAM organitzarà enguany, dirigides a tota la comunitat EETAC i relacionades amb IoT (Internet of Things) i Smart Cities.

Title: "Smart Cities and Open Data. Real Cases and Risk Privacy"

Abstract:  The world is increasingly urbanite. We are living a revolution about the "intelligent" or "smart" things. The cities in which we live can not advance more slowly. This revolution involves a new generation of huge amounts of data produced in the cities in which we live. Data produced with public money, should be Open and Public? Are Smart Cities and Open Data real and serious Risks to the Privacy of citizens? Can Cities become a Big Brother? We will share real-life experiences to discuss them.

Bio: 

  • Mallén Villalba, Patricia: Law degree from the University of Barcelona (2009). Master in Environmental Law with special reference to her work "Implementation of integrated water cycle in a smart city: some legal considerations" (ICAB 2011-2012). Master of Laws in the Information Society - Audit technological environments (ICAB 2011-2012). Master in Local Government Procurement (UAM in progress). Egovernment Graduate from the Open University of Catalonia (UOC 2009-2010). She is member of the sections of Administrative Law, Environmental Law, Constitutional Law and ICT Law at ICAB. She currently works in the law firm Menendez & Associates since 2011 and as a teacher of Master of Laws in the Information Society ("Legal Issues in Smart Cities") since 2013. She has also worked at the law firm Garrigues.
  • Valverde Amador, Antonio Javier: Telecommunication Engineer by the UPC (1996). Master in Innovation Management from the Complutense University of Madrid (2009). Head of Information Systems in the city of Sant Joan Despí since 2013. Associate Professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia since 2011. Professor of Master of Laws in the Information Society at ICAB since 2013. For more than seven years was as head of Knowledge Society in the city of Sant Vicenç dels Horts where different projects developed in the field of Smart Cities and presented at the Barcelona Mobile World Congress.
