Talk: Video, virtual reality and challenges ahead in the future of media (Dr Joan Llobera, i2Cat Foundation). February 15th, 17:30h (duration 1h), classroom C4-021B

Abstract: This talk will provide an overview of the activities of the Media team of the i2cat Foundation. More specifically, we are working on multi-platform content production and delivery, combining innovative video formats. On the mid-term, we plan to combine such work with CGI-based virtual reality content, similar to videogames, smart interactive characters, machine learning for media, or innovative content management. We will overview current activities, what is planned for the coming years, and outline some specific examples of how we have dealt with specific engineering problems in the last 18 months.
