The Collider - Call4Technologies 2019 - UPC

The Collider, the innovation program promoted by Mobile World Capital Barcelona, which connects scientific and entrepreneurial talent to create startups that respond to social challenges and the industry has launched its third call.

The program is aimed at scientific profiles (MSc, PhDs, PostDocs) linked to research groups, with the aim of accompanying them in the transfer of their knowledge, as well as the technological assets of the University, and promoting the creation of highly innovative startups. In particular, we seek researchers with high knowledge in areas such as: artificial intelligence, blockchain, internet-of-things or virtual reality (see basis).

The selected participants will have access to an exclusive service program to facilitate the growth of projects. All projects established as a company may receive up to € 50,000 in the form of seed capital to develop a viable minimum product. New in 2019

In this new incorporation, three new features will be added to make the participation more attractive:

• Call4Technologies is geared towards reselling industry challenges: therefore, selected projects have the support of large corporations among them and validations that are piloted. The main areas of interest of the program focus on Health & Wellness, Mobility, Energy / Utilities and any field related to Industry 4.0. A project we seek at the TRL3-6 level of technology in the areas of IoT, AI, VR / 3D, Blockchain, 5G or Medical Devices.

• The selected technology projects will receive an economic aid of € 2,000 that will include the research institution to be developed from the deployment or other types of complements that will be considered appropriate for the participation of the research group in the The Collider program 2019.

• The selection of the entrepreneurial profiles is subsequent to the selection of the technological projects for each project. In case a selected project is introduced, we will be involved in this selection process.
