Mobility offer

In the following, you can find a list of the agreements signed with many universities all around the world that are currently available for EETAC students. However, it is common that your first doubt is on "what can I study when I go abroad". In the next section we also link specific information for those who have already applied and won a place for studying abroad.

What can I study abroad?

The following table summarizes the mobility options for each Bachelor degree:

The mobility for Master students is limited to the Master Thesis, an internship or the Dual Degree program.

Generally speaking, you can study abroad and then recognize at EETAC any of the following activities:

  • Courses during one or two semesters. In the case of taking optional courses only, you do not need to have a 1 to 1 matching with courses at EETAC. In the case of taking compulsory courses, it should be agreed before with the Academic coordinator. In both cases, please remember that only technological courses related to your study plan can be recognized once you are back. Here you can find more details on how to proceed if you want to enroll for courses abroad (log in required).
  • Bachelor/Master thesis. We strongly recommend you to start searching for a topic and professor in the foreign university or company before you start your mobility period: many universities do not have a public list of available thesis (as we do have at EETAC) and it may be difficult to find what you are looking for. In case you have a topic in mind, we recommend you to contact the EETAC professors who research on such topic and ask them to help you (they may probably have contacts with other researchers abroad). Here you can find specific information for the Bachelor thesis, for the DT Bachelor Thesis and for the Master thesis abroad (log in required).
  • Internship in a foreign industry (work placement). Check the generic internship rules at EETAC, in order to confirm which type of internship can be recognized once you are back. Please remember that the salary conditions required in Spain cannot be guaranteed when you go abroad. In case you are interested in this option, you have to search for available internships by yourself. In case you are interested in this option, you may find more info in the Intership aboard section

Also, you can combine activities during your mobility period, like for example:

  • Optional courses + Bachelor thesis
  • Optional courses + work placement
  • Bachelor thesis in a foreign industry

We also offer dual degrees (DD) with partner universities, thus earning two Master diplomas: one from EETAC and one from the partner university. You can enter the dual degree program in two ways:

1. EETAC Bachelor students: study your fourth Bachelor year abroad (courses + BC thesis); defend the BC thesis at EETAC thus earning the EETAC BC diploma; enrol in one of the EETAC Masters linked to this DD program and defend the MC thesis at EETAC, thus earning the two Master’s diplomas.

2. EETAC Master students: study the first year of the EETAC Master; enrol courses + MC thesis abroad; defend the MC thesis at both institutions, thus earning the two Master’s diplomas

You can access to the slides of the last presentation on our mobility programs.

When to go?

Generally speaking, you must start thinking of and start inform you about at least one year before starting your mobility period. Most of our Bachelor students want to take their 7th and/or 8th semester abroad: the following picture may guide you in this case.

1. Bachelor Students:

  • In general, you are required to have passed at least 120/150 ECTS, depending on your degree and mobility option.
  • Typically, as stated above, you'd like to spend the last year of your Bachelor degree abroad. However, in case of applying to the SICUE program for studying in a Spanish university or to Erasmus+ internship, you can leave on your 3rd year of studies.
  • You can apply for one semester (max 30 ECTS) or two semesters (max 60 ECTS).
  • You may earn 3/6 extra credits for one/two semesters mobility period, helping us promoting the mobility of students!

2. MAST and MASTEAM Students:

Last semester of your Master degree for the Master Thesis and/or internship.

  • Second semester MASTEAM.
  • Third semester MAST.

3. MED Students:

Currently, there is no mobility option for students in the Master in Applications and Technology for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Drones).

4. Traineeship:

You can apply for a work placement at any time in the year and once you have found a laboratory or a company accepting you as an intern. You have to check and find an offer by your own. You can find useful links here and further details here

Offer at EETAC

EETAC participates in several universities consortiums such as CLUSTER, PIU-CINDA, CAESAR, orientated to provide "High Quality" Engineering Education and improve links between Engineering schools and Universities.

Several agreements have been signed by EETAC in the last years with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) all around the world. Different programs may lay behind each agreement. However, as a student, the first and probably most important detail you may like to know is where you can apply

Some of the programmes you can apply to are: Erasmus StudiesErasmus TrainingUPC-EuropeUPC-America Latina, UNITECH, etc. All these programs except Erasmus+ are managed by the UPC Mobility Office of the International Relations Bureau (link).

The bilateral agreements currently signed by EETAC with universities from all-over the world are displayed in this map. They have been classified by degree, so you can filter them by clicking the icon in the upper left side of the map.

SICUE Program

The mobility program for students of Spanish HEIs called SICUE (Sistema de Intercambio entre Centros Universitarios Españoles - Exchange System between Spanish University Centres) and is intended for Bachelor students only

Through this program, the students of a Spanish university can carry out part of their studies (courses and/or the Bachelor thesis) in another Spanish university, with guarantees of academic recognition of their achievements, as well as of adaptation to their curricular profile. Tuition fees are payed once at home university.

This exchange program takes into account the formative value of the exchange, by making it possible for the student to experience different teaching systems, including the regime of practices, as well as the different social and cultural aspects of other autonomous regions and cities.

There is only one call for the SICUE program at the beginning of the year and is open to all the Spanish universities. The SICUE program follows the procedure determined by the Spanish Ministry (MEC) with the detail of the documentation that is needed and that may change from call to call. For more information on the last open call and its specific requirements, please visit the UPC website.
