Maria Mumbrú and Clàudia Espuña, trained at EETAC, tell La Vanguardia about their experience as engineers and are a reference for girls who are considering engineering studies or want to enter the aeronautics sector.
Clàudia Espuña and Maria Mumbrú, both aeronautical engineers trained at the EETAC of the UPC, have found their place in the aviation sector and want to inspire more women to follow STEAM paths.
Clàudia Espuña works at Vueling as a MOC Shift Leader, coordinating fleet maintenance in real time. She started with an internship at the company while studying at EETAC and has risen to a key position in aircraft safety and operations. Although women were a minority during her university years, she has seen the female presence in the sector grow progressively. She defends the importance of teamwork and encourages young women to break barriers and dare with aeronautical engineering.
Maria Mumbrú, also at Vueling, works as a flight operations engineer, ensuring that each flight runs smoothly, from fuel calculations to the management of alternative airports. Her vocation for aviation was born unexpectedly after discovering the degree in Aerospace Systems Engineering at an educational fair. Despite feeling the pressure of academic and professional demands, she has learned to manage it and see the possibilities of engineering as an open door to multiple future options.
Both emphasize that engineering offers tools to face any professional challenge and encourage girls to explore this world without fear of making mistakes. Don't miss the full interview HERE
