The bachelor's degree in Satellite Engineering at EETAC will start in 2024-2025

The bachelor's degree in Satellite Engineering is a unique degree in the State and a pioneer in Europe, which will offer comprehensive training in the knowledge, skills and competences demanded by the space sector.
The contents of the new bachelor degree, of 240 ECTS credits (four courses in duration), include the design and control of the systems that make up a space vehicle, communications with Earth and between satellites, transmission and processing data and satellite data services and applications.
This new qualification is co-financed by the Generalitat de Catalunya as part of the NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia, which incorporates technological, social and business actions aimed at promoting the Catalan space sector. For example, the use of smaller and cheaper satellites, which allows more agents, both public and private, to use space services for vertical and transversal applications in various productive sectors. Applications that include the observation and management of the territory; the analysis and decision-making in infrastructure, agricultural production or in the face of climatic adversities, or the expansion of coverage for communications of the Internet of Things (IoT, by its acronym in English), 5G or 6G . This new ecosystem will have a binding effect on other technologies, such as 3D printing, artificial intelligence, advanced electronics and next-generation mobile communications.
