Visiting students
Visiting students are students who participate in an official course at the UPC in order to complete part of their university education, but do not do so as part of a mobility program or under any other sort of agreement that allows them to enroll at the UPC free of charge.
To apply for admission to a bachelor’s or master’s degree at the UPC as a visiting student, candidates must meet the academic requirements for admission to that academic level or be taking a degree at that level at another university.
Visiting students at the UPC may take a maximum of 60 ECTS credits on a bachelor’s degree and a maximum of 30 ECTS credits on a master’s degree, given that these are also the maximum number of credits that may be recognised in the academic record if they are later admitted to the same degree as regular students. However, if they are not admitted to an official degree, visiting students are not considered students of the UPC.
The economic conditions applied to visiting students are established by the agreement reached by the Economic Committee of the UPC Board of Trustees each academic year.
The processes of preregistration, admission and enrollment for visiting students, as well as the specific rules that apply to them (e.g. documents they are required to present, admission requirements, selection committee, calendar, etc.), are the purview of the receiving school.
The enrolment fee will be set in the decree on public fees, which will establish the fee per credit for visiting students. There is no additional cost for academic services. You can consult the cost of the credit as a visiting student at the following link.
Visiting students are governed by the academic regulations for visiting students, even for courses they are only partly wish to take as visiting students.
Note: Students affected by the academic progress regulations may not gain admission as visiting students.
